Galentine's Day Market Application - 2018

Oh my God, we're back again! I'm teaming up with Emporium Logan Square to host another benefit on behalf of Chicago Period Project. This event will be in the same vein as our Crampus Holiday Market, which took place December 5, 2017.

Galentine's Day is a made-up holiday referenced in the show Parks and Recreation, created by our hero Leslie Knope to celebrate her strong and wonderful female friendships ahead of Valentine's Day.

Galentine's Day Market will be taking place on February 13th, 2018 from 6-11 pm with load-in at 4:45. We have room for eighteen additional vendors. Galentine's Day Market will feature all non-male-identifying vendors selling their own unique wares.

There is no application fee and no booth fee. Rather than taking your money, we would like each vendor to utilize social media, word of mouth, and email marketing to invite their friends and followers. Tables and chairs for vendors will be provided.

Rather than charging admission, we would like to encourage ALL of our attendees to bring a pack of pads, tampons, or new underwear to donate to Chicago Period Project. Our last event gathered close to 10,000 donations - enough to get more than a thousand women in need through a menstrual cycle!

By applying, you agree to utilize all of your social media channels to promote this event and the other makers during the month leading up to February 13th if you are accepted. Promotional materials (graphics) will be provided, but you are allowed to make your own graphics if you feel that what we provide is "off brand" for your social feeds. Because this is a free event benefitting a nonprofit that helps women in need, we expect everyone to pull equal weight in promoting the event so we can get as many donations as possible.

Please share the application with any other artists you feel would be a good fit. We aim to have a diverse lineup! If you've never done a market before, fear not! We'll make sure we set you up for success with a list of tips and tricks and plenty of time to get your stuff together in time for our event.

Applications closed at 11:59 pm on January 1st, 2018. Please allow at least one week for us to make our decisions, which will be sent out by January 9th. Vendors who were put on our waiting list last time will receive priority.

NOTE: This event is BEING hosted on behalf of Chicago Period Project. If you have logistical questions, pleasE direct them to mICKEY or Kira, not to CPP. Thank you!
